August Favourites!

Hi ya’ll! I’m back with some of my favourites this month! Though some of these recently tried and tested while some others have been my seasonal favourite. This past month has gone by quickly. A lot of things have been happening. Some good, some not so good, alas! But yes, my creative streak has been growing into a lot and that makes me happy! If you guys have been following me on instagram you would know I had made a DIY sparkling candle jar made of an empty nutella jar! It is gorge and I’m in love with it! I’ll leave a picture towards the end for you guys. And no, my inspiration wasn’t from Pinterest at all!

So coming back to August favourites, the star of this month is evidently this superr cutee Monsoon Heart Tote Bag by SPADES. Check out more cool stuff on the facebook page here

I have been totally obsessed with this tote. Monsoons may get extremely dull and boring and you ladies can vouch for this when I say how heart wrenching it is to see our favourite bag under fungal attack after surviving a storm! *pun intended* this bag has been my ultimate obsession and I guess I’m gonna love it for a long time to come!

Here are some beauty and non-beauty products that I have been using and lovin’

The first one is this beautiful Redemption Palette Iconic 3 palette by Makeup Revolution London. Price of the palette is 1200 I got this off a flat 50% sale on Jabong and this was definitely a super saver. I really like the earthy tones as well as party-appropriate colours. Though I wouldn’t consider this a dupe of the urban decay naked palette, but it does a fairly good job of creating the ‘smoky-eye’ illusion.

The second product is this hand cream from Crabtree & Evelyn – Somerset Meadow ultra- moisturising hand therapy. Oh My Gosh you guys, this hand cream transported me to what my senses would actually perceive fields and meadow would smell like! This is a perfect hand cream for the coming winter. It’s non greasy and stands tall for what it claims- moisturising! After some hours it leaves behind a mild lingering smell fragrance which I love. It is one of my recent purchases and I’m so glad I stocked up on this beforehand. I am gonna try the pomegranate one too. I got this for Rs.395 from Nykaa.com

I have clubbed these two products together; the first one is a daily wear foundation by Rimmel London called the Match Perfection- Light Perfecting Radiance Foundation, in the shade- 303 True Nude. It has an SPF 18 and gives a good coverage. It has a mild fragrance which I don’t really mind. The only hitch is the shade availability. I wouldn’t suggest buying this online. Its priced at Rs.645 and I got it from Rimmel store, Westside.
The second product is this facial tonic mist from Forest Essentials- Panchpushp. Since this is totally herbal and allergy-safe, it is the only reason i dared to purchase this and I’m so happy with this product! I spray it on whenever the heat is killing me or I wanna feel fresh! I had heard great reviews on this one and it surely has my stamp of approval! Price- Rs.650 for 100ml

Next on my lust list are these products from Colorbar. Colorbar Nail Lacquer in the shade 098 bloody mary. This is a hot neon pink color and I love it. I discovered this on my trip to the nail spa and soon became crazy for this color. In fact, I’m wearing this as I type! The matte Lip Colours are in the shade Shy Cherry 63 and Brick-O-La 42M. Brick-O-La is considered a MAC dupe and though not extremely matte, it is quite deep and suits my skin tone. But my favourite is hands down shy cherry! It is the perfect matte lipstick. Deep red hue and totally flatters my skin! Lipsticks are for 300 and nail polish for 175

The final non-beauty product is this stunner from Forever New. This is a lovely cream wallet and as you can see it is double sided and has loads of card slots and since I own a lot of store cards, life has never been better! It has a lovely elegant look to it and this is a recent purchase and I got it off their online site. Absolute love! I got it for Rs.2000 Price is subject to change. Check out their site for the current price.

So that’s it for today! And here’s the pic of my DIY sparkling candle jar.

3 Playful Rompers to Keep You Stylish

Being stylish and fashionable on a regular basis can be tedious sometimes. When you run out of styling ideas, you have to take a lot of time digging through your closet just to find something that you haven't worn yet. It's no problem when it's chilly outside because you can just pull out a few pieces from your closet and layer them up to create a new ensemble. However, when the weather is going bonkers, layering is not just an option!
So how do you stay fashionable always? The solution is simple. Rompers!
That's right, if you want to look stylish without looking as if you're trying too hard, just rock a cool set of rompers and you are good to go. Here are three kinds of playful rompers to satisfy the fashion conscious in you.

Strapless Romper

Spending the weekend at a beach or at a pool resort? Then a strapless romper, like this super cute bow bound suit, is just what you need. What makes a strapless one ideal is that you don't have to worry about tan lines after a hot day. Just wear a pair of platform shoes or wedges and you're date-ready!

Tropical Romper

If you want to add a burst of color to your ensemble on a typically rainy day, a tropical printed romper is what you need. It's fun, colorful and very casual, perfect for a stroll in the park or shopping at the mall. More than that, it's not only perfect for the rainy but can be a fun summer outfit too. Just add essential accessories to make your outfit season appropriate!

Sleeveless Romper with Pleated Shorts

Want to create a business casual outfit? Then opt for this romper that has plaited shorts. It's sleeveless with a modest neckline, so you can still be dressed appropriately to an event. Pair it with a stylish jacket or coat, and pointed pumps and you're ready for a business event. And if you have a social event to go to afterward, just take off your jacket and you're ready to party!

As you can see, rompers are made for casual comfort.  But the different styles mentioned above can make rompers suitable for different occasion, be it for a beach party or a business meeting.

Love the post? Have different ideas for creating a look using these rompers? Let me know in the comments below! Also, checkout http://www.lookbookstore.co/ for their fab clothing collection!

Laughing in the Purple Rain

With the onset of monsoon, it has been challenging for me to make a wardrobe change! It’s time to let go of all those summer dresses, flowy skirts and tank tops and somehow, I feel it all gets masked behind a giant umbrella or a pesky raincoat! But that doesn’t stop me from incorporating the summer colours into monsoon! I totally love that when it’s pouring outside I have to slip into my favourite super-comfy hoodies and pyjamas while sipping on coffee! J Woot woot.  But there are times when you have to venture out on a dull day and only a bright colourful outfit can cheer you up!

Top, Sunglasses, Shoes- Hill Road, Bandra, Jeans- Forever 21, Bracelet- Gifted, Beauty Products- Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus, Rimmel’s I Love Lasting finish- Apricot Punch,  Maybelline Colossal Kajal Coloured Kohl in Turquoise.

This adorable tie-dyed spaghetti strapped tank in bright hues of pink and orange is perfect for a rainy day! (pun intended) A pair navy boyfriend jeans is stylish and also the perfect length if you are spending a long day travelling. I love the purple plastic studded flats! They are super comfy for a typical rainy day sandal. A dainty stone bracelet to maintain the colourful nature of the attire and a cool pair of reflective mirrors completes this look! Whats’s not to love? Downplay your make-up, keeping the focus only on your eyes using the Maybelline Colossal Kohl in Turquoise and a tinted lip balm.

Leave in your comments and let me know what you think about this look.J

Traditionally Bound- Part 2

There’s sure an in-depth growing fondness for traditional attire. I have been grasping a good taste of the same. Initially, I did try to play safe but lately I have been trying to play with the colours, materials and works. Having said that, checkout the contrast representation of the same colour- PINK And no! I’m not a feminist gang supporter (Not that there’s anything wrong with that!) And this was definitely not an intention, but I only realised it during the picture edits! Hehe

The first set of pictures is from a friend’s engagement party. This with silver and neon pink Anarkali gave the appropriate pop of colour that the occasion needed. The second set is of a two toned net and georgette sari in pink and cream with sequined border and blue velvet blouse. It was a good occasion for it was the installation ceremony of my father into Presidency for his Rotary Club. Sorry for the low quality camera prints. I was expecting some good prints from the professional camera in the second half but It was not “blog-worthy.” Will be better in future until struck by a lightening of laziness!! :P

Family photo taken after the ceremony.

Anarkali- designed and custom made, sari- CraftsVilla

I have a coupled of really cool stuff lined up. Will unfold em all soon. *shriek of excitement*
Till then balle balle’ and shaava shaava’ Woot woot.. Brruuaahh J

Part 1 - Traditionally Bound

I have decided to do a two-part series of traditional wear that I have donned in the past months till present. And of course, as I had mentioned earlier, here are the pictures of the wedding. Do not forget to mention how beautiful the bride is or else my head will be on the chopping block! And you will also notice me slaving away which now, looking back I can’t really complain about because it all turned out to be beautiful!

Part-1, here it goes...

Wedding gown, Shoes, Tiara & Anarkali are from local boutiques in Mumbai made to custom fit, bride’s sari- gifted, my sari- FnU.

Summerized

So it’s almost been an eternity since I blogged! Had a super awesome time at Kerala, where I was the bridesmaid. And boy was that a task! For any of you who is gonna be a bridesmaid or even gonna spend the last three days of the brides singleton days, BUCKLE UP! Coz it is one roller coaster ride! But my friend was totally cool. And yes, I’m saying this coz I’m pretty sure she will be reading this :P Anyhoo, pics of the wedding is still under construction. It will be up on the blog hopefully soon. Today I will put up an outfit post that I spoke about in my last post!

So the look that I have put together is a summer dream with a possible chance of rain! Hehe...  [this was the random of the day (ROTD)]

Top, Skirt & Sunglasses - Forever 21, Rings- Westside,  Bag- H&M, Shoes- TopShop

Okay, so lemme brief you about the look- I have teamed up a blue striped crop top with a pink high waisted straight maxi skirt. To add a pop of colour I’m standing on an ankle-strapped deep purple heels. (I’m insanely in love with the heels that I got off a sale in Topshop, Dubai. It is a true beauty and I will be using this for another post very soon) And to add a bohemian touch I’ve used a fringed bag and brown aviators to cool it off! I’ve used only a couple of rings so as to keep the attention on the outfit. You can don this look for a high tea party or any other informal gathering!

Like the look? Do comment and lemme know how you feel J

BBloggers Week Specials

Town hopper is what I have been recently nicknamed! Travelling has been a lot of fun. And I’m all braced to travel to my hometown, Kerala within a week. I have mentioned in my previous post about my best bud who is getting married and I’m so psyched to be there! J Woot woot

Today I just wanted to do a quick post about my fav beauty products I have been raving on and about in the past week!

1 – Charcoal Black Mask- I purchased this from the Daiso store in the Dubai Mall. It is basically used for cleaning the pores on the nose. The advised application is twice a week and so far so good. This peel-off mask has been definitely useful in reducing the black heads on my nose, though not completely vanished, but I’m hoping it will after regular usage.

2 – Sebamed Sun Care SPF 50- This is the best sunscreen for my oily/sensitive skin so far! I have an extremely sensitive skin that tans within seconds of being exposed to the sun! Also, I had a huge trouble finding the best sunscreen as many of them instantly break me out, leave a white cast, get oily overtime or fail to protect my skin. This product however, is specifically designed for very sensitive and sun intolerant skin with UVA Filter 98% and UVB Filter 50 and shields against sunburn.  It is moderately priced with a shelf life of 3 years and helps to beat this extremely hot and humid Mumbai weather. I would definitely recommend this to people like me who are struggling to find the perfect sunscreen!

3 MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation- I use this over the MAC Studio Fix Fluid. My shade is NC42 It helps to mattify the skin without leaving it oily or shiny with a good amount of coverage. I wouldn’t suggest this for an individual use, it works best with the liquid foundation.

4 – Rimmel’s Scanadaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara- I am in love with this product. It came along in a pack of three consisting of the waterproof eyeliner and kohl kajal. I love the smooth consistency and it does not clump my lashes. Result achieved: dramatic fuller lashes. Scandalous Indeed!

5- Maybelline Colossal Kajal Coloured Kohl- Last but not the least; Maybelline’s new launch has been on everyone’s radar and why shouldn’t it? This turquoise coloured kohl creates a dream effect and pops out the natural color of the eyes and is perfect for the summer! So if you are bored and your attire isn’t helping you either, be sure to bring out the funk in your look using this product!

That’s all for today! There’s going to be an outfit post very soon! So do keep watching this space for more on that... J

Vacation Trip- Dubai

Hello there! The past weeks have been absolutely hectic and I am absolutely tired! So, for those who haven’t been following me on social media, I don’t find any good reason why you shouldn’t? :P Moving on, I had been to the most amazing place on earth- Dubai! Now, habitually, I schedule my complete look right from hats to the right pair of shoes a day before I pack and strategically arrange them according to the day and itinerary! I’m sure I’m not the only one and many of you do the same, but it somehow amuses my folks when I do that! So first off, let me start by applauding the efforts of the GVK led consortium for the really magnificent Terminal 2 of the Mumbai Airport! Though it’s still under construction I really can’t wait to travel once it’s completely done, especially to check out the duty free sector.

Dubai was lovely. I was there for only a week but had a blast also, might I add, the view outside my apartment was stunning! here are some pictures of the scenic beauty:

Here are my top fav pics of my look there;

Dress and sunglasses- Forever 21, Bag- H&M, hat- gifted, shoes- Hill road

Shrug- Westside, top- Goa, Ring- Bandra, Belt & Jeans- Westside, Sunglasses- Blur

Here are some places/activity I would recommend you guys:

Visit the Burj Khalifa and Burj-Al-Arab. It goes without saying that this is a part of everyone’s itinerary! The musical fountain show at Burj Khalifa comes in duration of half an hour in the evening! Be sure to be besotted by the largest tower of the world.

Drive through Shaikh Zayed Road at night! The magnificent lightings on the building will surely leave you shell-shocked and if you are as random as me, you would expect the buildings to transmogrify into transformers at any moment!

Dubai Marina- the boat ride to Burj Al Arab was fantastic and by the pictures you can see that the view is totally worth it

Jumeira Beach/ Palm Atlantis- this must probably be the most exclusive places to visit. With a view of the blue ocean and exotic hotels, this is really a place to be.

Desert Safari- a must try for all the adrenaline junkies out there! The sand dune bashing in their beast machine is a thrill bill! They take you to the highest sand dune and slide down and of course with maximum safety, then you get to click pictures and proceed to the camp for entertainment and dinner Might I add the belly dancing was FAB!

Mall of Emirates- Along with my extensive shopping, there was a Snow World which was built for many snow activities, fun environment and is treated to a shocking -4 degrees!

The Dubai Mall- I was in love with this mall and I have shopped the maximum here and I loved the experience! Check out the Louis Vuitton, Sephoras, Victoria’s Secret, H&M Bath&BodyWorks and Topshop. Bloomingdales too didn’t fail to disappoint me. Also during the weekends it is open till 2am!
Overall this was definitely a much needed vacation. Loved the freedom and pleasure! Freedom being, frolicking on the beach at odd hours like 4am because it’s that safe! And pleasure was being able to SHOP past midnight even on weekdays! Haha

All in all a mind-blowing experience all packed in a week! Would definitely be seeing more of it soon! That’s all for today

Keep travelling and Keep dazzlin’ J Woot woot
