August Beauty Favourites!

Hello! It has been ages, but I just couldn’t help posting another blog post about some of my favourites that have me raving this month. So, let’s directly dive into the August goodies!
While I have been loving the monsoons in Mumbai, it seems to bring about some bright rays of sunshine too, ergo, confusing the hell out of me and my make-up routine. So, here are some nude and neutrals for them sunshine beam and darker hues for when it’s cloudy. *Bonus* since we are gradually transitioning towards the cooler months, you could easily fit these products to glam up your autumn/winter look!

1.   Maybelline The Nudes Palette
Being an ardent admirer of neutral hues, I had to check in this efficient palette. It comes in a sturdy packaging with twelve gorgeous matte and shimmer pigments. It is extremely cost-effective with the price tag of Rs 899. (It was on sale on Amazon for Rs 647)
Mix and match the shades to create an effortless look for subtle yet classy look. It doesn’t look too bold and the shadows are easily buildable.

2. Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze and Brighten- Golden Hot
This palette called out to me while I was browsing Nykaa.com I had my eye on this for quite some time and decided to take the plunge and add it to my cart. And I definitely didn’t regret it. One of the best purchase so far. This palette consists of a blush, bronzer and highlighter. The packaging is sleek and portable. The bronzer is potent enough to warm up my NC42 skin tone. The golden shimmer particles infused highlighter is absolutely stunning. The pink toned blush is pigmented. A little goes a long way with this palette. Am I going to repurchase this again? Absolutely!
Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze and Brighten (Golden Hot) - Rs 850

3. Colorbar Nail Lacquer and Chambor Extreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipstick.
My go-to products this season, I have been reaching out to the Chambor Liquid Lipstick far more often. It is in the shade 436- a deep brick red colour with red undertones. Pair this with Colorbar’s nail polish in 02 Valentino which is in maroon. Double coat it for oxblood-shot nails!
Colorbar Nail Lacquer 02 Valentino- Rs 147
Chambor Extreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipstick (436)- Rs 845

Swatch of the shade 436

4. Colorbar Nail Lacquer, Colorbar Quick Finish Nail Lacquer and MAC Matte Lipstick
For sunshiny days, I like to brighten my mood with the Colorbar Quick Finish Nail Lacquer in 32 Rustiway. Like the name suggests, the polish is a gorgeous dense rust colour. On other days, the Colorbar Nail Lacquer in 79 Pretty Please 2 comes to rescue. It is legit the perfect nude nail polish that has brown with pink undertones. You can wear it with the MAC Matte Lipstick in Mehr. Mehr (Dirty Blue Pink) is a dusty pink colour that can instantly brighten up the face without going bold. It is highly pigmented with the signature MAC’s vanilla fragrance. You can also try the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry.
Colorbar Nail Lacquer- Rs 147
Colorbar Quick Finish Nail Lacquer 32 Rustiway- Rs 195
MAC Matte Lipstick Mehr- Rs 1139

I had so much fun playing with these palettes and colours, hope you had a good time reading the review too!
Until then keep hangin, keep glamin’ Woot woot J

7 Things I Love On Men

Hello! It’s been a long haul since my last blog post. I wouldn’t waste any time in explaining what actually took me so long. Instead, I would get on with my regular blogging schedule which I so love and missed.

I have always wanted to do this topic, since it was so intriguing as to what exactly attracts me to a man the most- the charm, the clothes, the shoes? So, I have jotted down 7 things I love on men, which I’m sure most of us women will agree to.

·       Whiff Of A Perfume
This is numero uno on my list simply because, it is the first thing I catch on a guy. A musky, woody lingering fragrance is just a turn on for most women. So, guilty as charged!

o   Well-Fitted Suit
My oh my! We all remember drooling over a favourite TV show’s handsome hunk with glossy shades and a classy suit. Although, not preferred to be groomed 24x7 like our man Mr. Stinson, it is definitely advantageous for several occasions.

·       Watch Out!
This is the only arm-candy on my man I can tolerate, of course, besides me. Admittedly, I am a sucker for watches and they always seem to catch my eyes, especially a chronograph. A sporty leather for casuals and the classic round-dialled chronograph for formal meets, will NEVER go out of style.

o   Leather Jacket
If a guy can carry leather jacket like his second skin, “Hats Off!” It is a one true gift to do so. A leather jacket with ripped/chain detailing look ideal, when teamed with casuals for an upbeat look. If your guy finishes this look with rocker boots and asks you out for a long drive, hang on to him!

·       Fedora
Is it just me or Bruno Mars is the first person that pops up in your mind with the mention of fedora. Just like the Hawaiian singer can pull of a checked shirt, denims and fedora, I would so love to see this more often on a regular guy. It has a easy-breezy vibe to it and can amp up the coolness-factor on a fun night!

o   Wacky Ties
This is a must-have in every guy’s closet. Wacky ties are so cool. And I love the crazy and creative ones that just make for a statement piece. It unleashes the inner madness that I believe exists in every man. And with this, I have suggested constructive gifting item for your friend, boyfriend, husband, brother, cool uncle and dad (maybe?)

·       Facial Hair
As funny as it sounds, most men do believe, Beard= Proven Manhood. I wouldn’t care to agree or disagree, but I just love it. My favourite one is a well-maintained stubble. I find it extremely appealing. Just the sight of it, is pleasant to look at.

So, I hope you guys enjoyed reading this! Let me know your thoughts/ suggestions on what you would like on your guy? I would love reading the same!
Till then, Keep jammin’ and keep mannin  J Woot woot

3 Playful Rompers to Keep You Stylish

Being stylish and fashionable on a regular basis can be tedious sometimes. When you run out of styling ideas, you have to take a lot of time digging through your closet just to find something that you haven't worn yet. It's no problem when it's chilly outside because you can just pull out a few pieces from your closet and layer them up to create a new ensemble. However, when the weather is going bonkers, layering is not just an option!
So how do you stay fashionable always? The solution is simple. Rompers!
That's right, if you want to look stylish without looking as if you're trying too hard, just rock a cool set of rompers and you are good to go. Here are three kinds of playful rompers to satisfy the fashion conscious in you.

Strapless Romper

Spending the weekend at a beach or at a pool resort? Then a strapless romper, like this super cute bow bound suit, is just what you need. What makes a strapless one ideal is that you don't have to worry about tan lines after a hot day. Just wear a pair of platform shoes or wedges and you're date-ready!

Tropical Romper

If you want to add a burst of color to your ensemble on a typically rainy day, a tropical printed romper is what you need. It's fun, colorful and very casual, perfect for a stroll in the park or shopping at the mall. More than that, it's not only perfect for the rainy but can be a fun summer outfit too. Just add essential accessories to make your outfit season appropriate!

Sleeveless Romper with Pleated Shorts

Want to create a business casual outfit? Then opt for this romper that has plaited shorts. It's sleeveless with a modest neckline, so you can still be dressed appropriately to an event. Pair it with a stylish jacket or coat, and pointed pumps and you're ready for a business event. And if you have a social event to go to afterward, just take off your jacket and you're ready to party!

As you can see, rompers are made for casual comfort.  But the different styles mentioned above can make rompers suitable for different occasion, be it for a beach party or a business meeting.

Laughing in the Purple Rain

With the onset of monsoon, it has been challenging for me to make a wardrobe change! It’s time to let go of all those summer dresses, flowy skirts and tank tops and somehow, I feel it all gets masked behind a giant umbrella or a pesky raincoat! But that doesn’t stop me from incorporating the summer colours into monsoon! I totally love that when it’s pouring outside I have to slip into my favourite super-comfy hoodies and pyjamas while sipping on coffee! J Woot woot.  But there are times when you have to venture out on a dull day and only a bright colourful outfit can cheer you up!

Top, Sunglasses, Shoes- Hill Road, Bandra, Jeans- Forever 21, Bracelet- Gifted, Beauty Products- Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus, Rimmel’s I Love Lasting finish- Apricot Punch,  Maybelline Colossal Kajal Coloured Kohl in Turquoise.

This adorable tie-dyed spaghetti strapped tank in bright hues of pink and orange is perfect for a rainy day! (pun intended) A pair navy boyfriend jeans is stylish and also the perfect length if you are spending a long day travelling. I love the purple plastic studded flats! They are super comfy for a typical rainy day sandal. A dainty stone bracelet to maintain the colourful nature of the attire and a cool pair of reflective mirrors completes this look! Whats’s not to love? Downplay your make-up, keeping the focus only on your eyes using the Maybelline Colossal Kohl in Turquoise and a tinted lip balm.

Leave in your comments and let me know what you think about this look.J

Top, Skirt & Sunglasses - Forever 21, Rings- Westside,  Bag- H&M, Shoes- TopShop

Okay, so lemme brief you about the look- I have teamed up a blue striped crop top with a pink high waisted straight maxi skirt. To add a pop of colour I’m standing on an ankle-strapped deep purple heels. (I’m insanely in love with the heels that I got off a sale in Topshop, Dubai. It is a true beauty and I will be using this for another post very soon) And to add a bohemian touch I’ve used a fringed bag and brown aviators to cool it off! I’ve used only a couple of rings so as to keep the attention on the outfit. You can don this look for a high tea party or any other informal gathering!

7 App Downloads for Women

With our current lifestyle today going at top speed, it’s really difficult to keep track of it all. Agreeably, technology has taken over our lives and what’s best than to roll with it and keep up! I try my best to keep updated all the latest stuff happening and my golly! Its dang tough to be in the loop 24x7 without feeling like a left out chicken while the entire twitterverse is ranting or praying for some afflicted place! But it’s worth trying! We women have different moods at all times. And it’s sometimes difficult to keep decide what we really want to do! Here are some apps for women that we would want (read need) to have with us at all times, you know just to make life simpler for us.

Pinterest- It’s that one app that defines -all things beautiful. One stop for a variety of categories ranging from food, DIY’s, fashion, weddings to quotes! Though now it is highly popularised. Many aren’t aware of this magic app! Personal story: I have wasted countless hours on just pinning and liking! So if you haven’t added me yet, click on the ‘add to pinterest’ button to the right of this page and welcome to a beautiful universe! J Woot Woot  I definitely give this one my “Stamp of Approval.”

Vine-  Another app that has been popularised by Instagram. Create and browse all short videos for Instagram. While you’re at there, don’t forget to check out the comedy category! There are loads of funny clips that will make you ROFL!

Sygic- I hadn’t realised the power of this app until late last year. Sygic : GPS Navigation & Maps is one of the best navigational app that can be available. What’s the best feature you ask? No internet connection needed along with other cool features mentioned in the highlight section of the app! Now, I got this free in Play Store, Im not sure that goes the same for App store. Even if it’s paid, it’s totally worth it. You can quit worrying about missing the turns, losing your way with this app!

OOTD

I remember being in love with my Forever New jeans during my initial college years! This was followed by the introduction of Zara and Forever 21. I totally love Forever 21. I’m so glad they are soon starting their online site for India! And yes, I am absolutely aware of the designer knock off scenes. Yes, plagiarism doesn’t extend only in journalism! But, then again, all of the fashion retailers have to implicate designs from the high-end fashion brands! That’s the only way the markets going to survive. The love for fashion and wearing trending pieces doesn’t limit only to people who can afford maxing their cards! And I absolutely loved the reading the comment section on the very latest controversy on  Man Repeller about  Zara!  I may or may have not given a piece of my mind! ;-) For those who are not aware of the never-ending debate you can google for interesting articles like
 this

So, coming back to simpler topics, here’s my OOTD

I’ve put together a simple piece, and as you’ll see for a casual wear on a summer day. A cool crop top paired with denims and a cute sling to finish off the look. Just to add a teenie bit of dazzle to the outfit I have accessorized with cool gold midi and chain rings. (My personal favs Woot woot J )
