Vacation Trip- Dubai

Hello there! The past weeks have been absolutely hectic and I am absolutely tired! So, for those who haven’t been following me on social media, I don’t find any good reason why you shouldn’t? :P Moving on, I had been to the most amazing place on earth- Dubai! Now, habitually, I schedule my complete look right from hats to the right pair of shoes a day before I pack and strategically arrange them according to the day and itinerary! I’m sure I’m not the only one and many of you do the same, but it somehow amuses my folks when I do that! So first off, let me start by applauding the efforts of the GVK led consortium for the really magnificent Terminal 2 of the Mumbai Airport! Though it’s still under construction I really can’t wait to travel once it’s completely done, especially to check out the duty free sector.

Dubai was lovely. I was there for only a week but had a blast also, might I add, the view outside my apartment was stunning! here are some pictures of the scenic beauty:

Here are some places/activity I would recommend you guys:

Visit the Burj Khalifa and Burj-Al-Arab. It goes without saying that this is a part of everyone’s itinerary! The musical fountain show at Burj Khalifa comes in duration of half an hour in the evening! Be sure to be besotted by the largest tower of the world.

Drive through Shaikh Zayed Road at night! The magnificent lightings on the building will surely leave you shell-shocked and if you are as random as me, you would expect the buildings to transmogrify into transformers at any moment!

Dubai Marina- the boat ride to Burj Al Arab was fantastic and by the pictures you can see that the view is totally worth it

Jumeira Beach/ Palm Atlantis- this must probably be the most exclusive places to visit. With a view of the blue ocean and exotic hotels, this is really a place to be.

Desert Safari- a must try for all the adrenaline junkies out there! The sand dune bashing in their beast machine is a thrill bill! They take you to the highest sand dune and slide down and of course with maximum safety, then you get to click pictures and proceed to the camp for entertainment and dinner Might I add the belly dancing was FAB!

Mall of Emirates- Along with my extensive shopping, there was a Snow World which was built for many snow activities, fun environment and is treated to a shocking -4 degrees!

The Dubai Mall- I was in love with this mall and I have shopped the maximum here and I loved the experience! Check out the Louis Vuitton, Sephoras, Victoria’s Secret, H&M Bath&BodyWorks and Topshop. Bloomingdales too didn’t fail to disappoint me. Also during the weekends it is open till 2am!
Overall this was definitely a much needed vacation. Loved the freedom and pleasure! Freedom being, frolicking on the beach at odd hours like 4am because it’s that safe! And pleasure was being able to SHOP past midnight even on weekdays! Haha

All in all a mind-blowing experience all packed in a week! Would definitely be seeing more of it soon! That’s all for today

Review- The Four Fountains De-Stress Spa

There’s nothing more stressful than being a bride to be in just a month! And what’s the best gift can a maid of honour give her to cope up with the strenuous task of being the future good ol’ wifey? A de-stressing spa session! And me, being the hard act committed friend, accompanied her and went through a session myself! J

So, I had planned a pre-bachelorette spa treatment for my friend who is getting married in May (yes, you will be seeing more of her in the later month!) I was more than excited when I got an invitation for a complimentary therapy at  The Four Fountains De-Stress Spa, Mumbai
I tagged my friend along and what followed was us being passed out for an hour and woke up RELAXED! Read on to know more.....

To begin with, I’ll just give a quick backdrop of the spa:

*    The Four Fountains De-stress Spa is one India’s largest chain of professionally managed, affordable health spa.
*    They have 20 spas in 7 major cities- Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Banglore, Kolkata, Pune & Goa
*    Their spa therapies are categorized into De-Stressing, De-Toxification, Immunity and Beauty
*    There’s an in-house spa doctor who conducts a stress test and then recommends the best fitted spa therapy and also suggests a healthy diet/lifestyle chart.
*    Well trained therapists.
*    The ambience is holistically adhered.

Here are some pics of the spa and ofcourse there is one of my best friend and a random pic of my fingers oops rings covered with fingers! I have always loved awesome rings, glitzy, midi/knuckle, statement, chain anything and everything!! And Bin did a good job of capturing it whilst on our Chocolate Avalanche Sr. sabotage at MochaMojo.

This is Binsty on her engagement day.  I put this up on her insistence!

Rings a mixed bag of Forever 21, WestSide, Hill Road, Street exhibitions.
My Review:

I visited the spa located in Bandra. Upon entering, I was greeted by a staff. Then proceeded to I’m guessing the in-house doctor who checked our stress levels, turns out my stress level is higher than the bride! [Obvious reasons: P] and then a couple of general inquiry later, I was given the options to choose from a wide variety of therapies as mentioned above into the major categories. We chose to de-stress and hence, De-Stressing- Aromatherapy Massage (Relaxing) The whole environment in the general area was calming and with the whiffs of essential oils. Loved it! We were then introduced to our masseuse and then escorted to the therapy room for a quick change. The session began with wiping of the tired feet with a hot towel. I’m guessing that’s for hygiene purpose but it felt good anyway right from there. The aromatherapy essential oils used were French Lavender and Ylang Ylang. French lavender, according to their small info card is known to reduce anxiety while Ylang Ylang relaxes nerves. Perfect! I must say that my therapist, Iccha was really good. She was responsive and comforting. Also, one major point I must add is that I really hate when you visit spas and the attendant is really annoying you with the unnecessary chitter-chatter when all you want to do is relax. But here it was nothing like that. She was completely dedicated and I was for most of the parts in a comatose state of relaxation. The stress nerves were attended to, the pressure was well-maintained. Also, the music was extremely soothing. Which was a bonus! All in all, perfecto! I would give a standing ovation if I could but then that would be weird. Coming back, after the well deserved relaxed hour, I was then to go for a shower that was attached to the room which was good. After the session we were given a hot cup of green tea and which we happily sipped and a tiny tub of complimentary gel which can be used to soothe the nerves then filled out their feedback form.

I must say I was very impressed. A good spa session is always refreshing.  And I would definitely recommend you guys to try this spa out at least once. You’ll definitely crave for some more! For an hour there I was in the “No-Stress Zone” and I came out content and satisfied. As for the bride-to-be, she came out looking relaxed she has ever been since she got engaged! Haha

That’s all for today, ‘keep dressing and keep de-stressing’ J Woot Woot
