Summerized

So it’s almost been an eternity since I blogged! Had a super awesome time at Kerala, where I was the bridesmaid. And boy was that a task! For any of you who is gonna be a bridesmaid or even gonna spend the last three days of the brides singleton days, BUCKLE UP! Coz it is one roller coaster ride! But my friend was totally cool. And yes, I’m saying this coz I’m pretty sure she will be reading this :P Anyhoo, pics of the wedding is still under construction. It will be up on the blog hopefully soon. Today I will put up an outfit post that I spoke about in my last post!

So the look that I have put together is a summer dream with a possible chance of rain! Hehe...  [this was the random of the day (ROTD)]

Top, Skirt & Sunglasses - Forever 21, Rings- Westside,  Bag- H&M, Shoes- TopShop

Okay, so lemme brief you about the look- I have teamed up a blue striped crop top with a pink high waisted straight maxi skirt. To add a pop of colour I’m standing on an ankle-strapped deep purple heels. (I’m insanely in love with the heels that I got off a sale in Topshop, Dubai. It is a true beauty and I will be using this for another post very soon) And to add a bohemian touch I’ve used a fringed bag and brown aviators to cool it off! I’ve used only a couple of rings so as to keep the attention on the outfit. You can don this look for a high tea party or any other informal gathering!

Like the look? Do comment and lemme know how you feel J

Vacation Trip- Dubai

Hello there! The past weeks have been absolutely hectic and I am absolutely tired! So, for those who haven’t been following me on social media, I don’t find any good reason why you shouldn’t? :P Moving on, I had been to the most amazing place on earth- Dubai! Now, habitually, I schedule my complete look right from hats to the right pair of shoes a day before I pack and strategically arrange them according to the day and itinerary! I’m sure I’m not the only one and many of you do the same, but it somehow amuses my folks when I do that! So first off, let me start by applauding the efforts of the GVK led consortium for the really magnificent Terminal 2 of the Mumbai Airport! Though it’s still under construction I really can’t wait to travel once it’s completely done, especially to check out the duty free sector.

Dubai was lovely. I was there for only a week but had a blast also, might I add, the view outside my apartment was stunning! here are some pictures of the scenic beauty:

Here are some places/activity I would recommend you guys:

Visit the Burj Khalifa and Burj-Al-Arab. It goes without saying that this is a part of everyone’s itinerary! The musical fountain show at Burj Khalifa comes in duration of half an hour in the evening! Be sure to be besotted by the largest tower of the world.

Drive through Shaikh Zayed Road at night! The magnificent lightings on the building will surely leave you shell-shocked and if you are as random as me, you would expect the buildings to transmogrify into transformers at any moment!

Dubai Marina- the boat ride to Burj Al Arab was fantastic and by the pictures you can see that the view is totally worth it

Jumeira Beach/ Palm Atlantis- this must probably be the most exclusive places to visit. With a view of the blue ocean and exotic hotels, this is really a place to be.

Desert Safari- a must try for all the adrenaline junkies out there! The sand dune bashing in their beast machine is a thrill bill! They take you to the highest sand dune and slide down and of course with maximum safety, then you get to click pictures and proceed to the camp for entertainment and dinner Might I add the belly dancing was FAB!

Mall of Emirates- Along with my extensive shopping, there was a Snow World which was built for many snow activities, fun environment and is treated to a shocking -4 degrees!

The Dubai Mall- I was in love with this mall and I have shopped the maximum here and I loved the experience! Check out the Louis Vuitton, Sephoras, Victoria’s Secret, H&M Bath&BodyWorks and Topshop. Bloomingdales too didn’t fail to disappoint me. Also during the weekends it is open till 2am!
Overall this was definitely a much needed vacation. Loved the freedom and pleasure! Freedom being, frolicking on the beach at odd hours like 4am because it’s that safe! And pleasure was being able to SHOP past midnight even on weekdays! Haha

All in all a mind-blowing experience all packed in a week! Would definitely be seeing more of it soon! That’s all for today

Keep travelling and Keep dazzlin’ J Woot woot

OOTD

I remember being in love with my Forever New jeans during my initial college years! This was followed by the introduction of Zara and Forever 21. I totally love Forever 21. I’m so glad they are soon starting their online site for India! And yes, I am absolutely aware of the designer knock off scenes. Yes, plagiarism doesn’t extend only in journalism! But, then again, all of the fashion retailers have to implicate designs from the high-end fashion brands! That’s the only way the markets going to survive. The love for fashion and wearing trending pieces doesn’t limit only to people who can afford maxing their cards! And I absolutely loved the reading the comment section on the very latest controversy on  Man Repeller about  Zara!  I may or may have not given a piece of my mind! ;-) For those who are not aware of the never-ending debate you can google for interesting articles like
 this

So, coming back to simpler topics, here’s my OOTD

I’ve put together a simple piece, and as you’ll see for a casual wear on a summer day. A cool crop top paired with denims and a cute sling to finish off the look. Just to add a teenie bit of dazzle to the outfit I have accessorized with cool gold midi and chain rings. (My personal favs Woot woot J )

To-Do List before sale shopping.

http://www.cute-wallpaper.com/

With the onset of the sale season, one identifies these days with just one thing- MADNESS! Yeah, as exciting as the sales shopping sound it’s generally maddening, exhilarating, and fun with equal amount of confusion! These emotions are doubled if it’s a one day sale! *Sigh*
I do enjoy shopping in a moderately insane environment. So street shopping fits me best! Nothing beats that moment of glory when you win a bargain with the salesperson! But a flat 50% is like a blue moon phenomena. So I took the chance and went on a shopping spree today. And I have to say, it was definitely worth the pain that my poor feet were subjected to! I got some really cool stuff from a lot of stores and what a relief to see a drop in the otherwise pinching prices!
Some pictures from my shopping haul today:

But I did my homework well, and guys as fun as sales shopping sounds, it can get chaotic and can be a poke in the eye (pun intended!). So to make it all easy, here’s a To-Do list before going Sales Crazayy!
1.     Wear clothes that are easy to slip in and out of, in case you want a trial, you don’t waste time. Wear comfortable clothes considering you have to spend long hours in it without being distracted.
2.     Avoid wearing heels as much as you can. You may have to walk a lot and it can get painful and bothersome. Wear flats or cool flip flops instead.
3.     Make a trip a day prior if possible. It will help you to checkout their existing collections and march straight to them the day next!
4.     Make a priority list. Especially the stores you really want to check out. It can get harum-scarum during this time and a list will act as a blinker to save you time.
5.     Carry a big enough bag with you like a tote or hobo and stuff some of your clothing inside it. This was a lesson for me today and I felt like King Kong, with all the bags bumping into everyone and everything. Why pay for them plastics? Turn eco-friendly instead!
6.     Keep two budgets! Yes, you read that right. We all have been there done that. You are completely resource exhausted and wish you hadn’t spent that much! So keep some spares. Will help you keep a tab on your expense and if you reaalllyyy like that cute top you know what to do ;-)
7.     As clichéd as it sounds guys, you gotta rush in early and get out early! Let it be a thumb rule for all you shoppers! The earlier you are in, you can avail the fresh stock!

Hope this really helps when you are out there. Wish you happy sales and shoppers luck!! Woot woot
